Through its extensive interactive website, educational programming, shows, exhibits, planetarium, online science, research and collections, the Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum aims to inspire the next generation of explorers and scientists. Exhibits cover everything from CyberSpace to Black Holes. Educational programming includes graduate courses and lectures, interactive demonstrations, an Astro-Science Workshop for high school students, as well as camps and programming for Scouts. For formal educators, resources include professional development workshops for teachers and administrators, standards-based curricula and resources to use in the classroom, off-site learning, and focused gallery guides and standards-based programs. The Museum staff are active in research on astronomy, science education, and the history of astronomy, with the largest collection of planetarium and astronomical artifacts in the Western Hemisphere.
