Home of Jane, the T. rex, The Burpee is a natural history museum specializing in paleontology, geology, biology, and Native American life. The Museum provides innovative educational programs for families, visitors, schoolchildren, and teachers, both on and off-site. Creative collaborations with other local and regional organizations provide unique educational experiences, and every Education Department staff member is a teacher with classroom experience. The Museum offers a number of tours, workshops on archeology, fossils and dinosaurs, and Project Clear, which is a hands-on experience giving students in grades 6-12 the opportunity to evaluate the Rock River by collecting water samples to study and determine the health of the river. Information on Teacher Boxes is on the website, as well as pre- and post-tour activities for classes. There are programs for Scouts, as well as home schoolers and summer camps. The website also features a blog, Dino Digs, which keeps readers up to date on all the latest discoveries from Hell Creek, where Jane was found.
