Located in Exposition Park, the California Science Center is the largest science center on the West Coast. At the 32,000 square foot Big Lab, students can perform real science experiments in physics, ecology, Earth system science, and hydrology. Air and Space exhibits let the imagination soar as visitors explore real aerospace artifacts and discover how scientific principles affect aircraft and spacecraft design. The online Science Arcade includes the games Whack a Germ, Air and Space Quiz, and Habitat Match, The Do-It-Yourself page has a number of varying protocols for science experiments at home. There are also several science exhibits for rent, mainly focused on physics principles. The California Science Center and the Los Angeles Unified School District have created the Science have created the Science Center School, a state of the art science elementary school for underserved groups of children and their parents. The Center also offers teacher professional development through the Amgen Center for Science Learning.
