The Flandrau Science Center is home to the Flandrau Planetarium Theater and the University of Arizona Mineral Museum. The Unispherium is a state-of-the-art planetarium theater featuring traditional star shows that take visitors far out into the cosmos, exploring the complex workings of a single human cell, inside an erupting volcano, or through the Great Barrier Reef. The EarthWorks Exhibit Hall explores the interrelationships between the Earth's natural systems - oceans, deserts, and forests- and man-made systems such as transportation and communications. The Mineral Museum houses one of the largest collections of minerals in the western United States, where visitors can enjoy the recorded stories of underground copper miners at a listening station for the Miners Story Project, an oral history project with nearly 200 interviews. The Observatory is open to the public, and there are numerous Astronomy lectures, links, as well as Star Parties, which bring an evening of stargazing to just about any location you choose. The website also provides current Science News, a Skywatchers Guide, and Today in Science History.
