The Fresno Metropolitan Museum is dedicated to developing and inspiring inquisitive minds through interaction and involvement in the arts and sciences. Through collaboration with the San Francisco Exploratorium, the Museum has a number of Earth science exhibits, including Earth, Wind, Inspire. Located in the Museum’s Reeves ASK Science Center, it features swirling sandstorms, tornados, the changing forms of clouds, patterns of waves on seas, geysers, the pull of gravity, reflected light and other experiences of the natural world. The collection aims to condense the causes and effects of nature into a short, perceivable time frame. The Met offers Teachers and Educators a number of resources including Professional Development, In Class Activities, Curriculum Guides, and School Tour programs. Along with programs for children and families, there are a lecture series, workshops and programs that appeal to adult audiences, and an Artist in Residence program in association with California State University, Fresno. The Museum has also initiated and Adopt a School program designed to encourage corporate funding for school groups, providing free admission and docent-lead tours.
