The John F. Kennedy Space Center is NASA’s headquarters is a working government facility with over 10,000 men and women actively expanding our knowledge of science, and is the only place on Earth where you can tour launch areas, meet an Astronaut, see giant rockets, train in spaceflight simulators, and even view a launch. The Center is America’s busiest launch and landing facility, where one can watch everything from the extensive preparation work, to launch, to landing. There are several exhibits sites at the facility, covering all aspects of space science, from the history of the space program to the heroes of space flight, and several of the actual space vehicles are also displayed. There are programs for groups and schools, opportunities to meet real astronauts, two IMAX theaters, and one can also experience space through various flight simulators. For the ultimate education, join the Astronaut Training Experience and spend the day immersed in hands-on training for the rigors of spaceflight.
