Boasting the largest science museum in a single building in the Western Hemisphere with over 800 exhibits and over 2,000 interactive units located in over 350,000 square feet of exhibit space, the Imagination Station provides hands-on learning in science, space, and technology. With exhibits ranging from a circa 1933 working coal mine shaft elevator, to a chick hatchery, and a cantilevered Boeing 727, the Museum also has a number of educational programs including Summer Explorations Camp and Mission to Mars. For schools and groups, there are Interactive Video Conferencing with Museum experts, teacher professional development courses, workshops, tours, demonstrations, and online exhibit guides for download. For the general public there are online exhibits, information on science clubs, Scouts programs, and the Science Minors program which engages teens to fulfill service learning requirements, learn about science, make friends and meet professionals in science careers while sharing information about exhibits with museum visitors and the community.
