The Bruce Museum of Arts and Science and Seaside Center strives to promote understanding and appreciation of the Arts, Science and the ecology and environment of the Long Island Sound. Exhibits include Minerals from Around the World, Meteorites, an Archeological Dig recreation, Fossils, the Connecticut River Valley Dinosaur Tracks, Live Animal Marine Tank and woodland wildlife dioramas. Collections include holdings of approximately 15,000 objects in fine and decorative art, natural history and anthropology. There are Museum programs for school and after school groups, the Brucemobile offsite educational outreach, as well as teacher workshops and online downloadable activities and lessons. The Seaside Center is a beachside museum located on Greenwich Point whose mission is to educate visitors about the ecology of Long Island Sound and environmental issues. Internships are available for college students interested in learning museum science.
